BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY

Therapy

Sessions are telehealth for your convenience.

If you are Colorado-based, let’s talk about working together with me as your therapist. My sex therapy approach embraces creating a sex-positive, non-judgmental, curious, and compassionate space where clients can bravely, authentically, and honestly explore their sex and sexuality challenges as well as positive, empowering aspects of their sexual selves.

I weave in an embodied, somatically-aware approach, drawing on my experience as a yoga and meditation instructor and my Brainspotting trauma processing training. I of course draw on therapy modalities I have studied and/or trained in, including Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, plus my ongoing specialized sex therapy training/studies.

As to psychedelic work, I can help you mindfully, compassionately prepare for and/or integrate your experiences with non-ordinary states of consciousness.

Telehealth/online therapy is an option!

1:1 COACHING

If you’re looking for customized guidance around intimacy and/or psychedelic work, coaching might be a good fit for you. Reach out to me for a free consultation about working with me in one of my signature coaching frameworks.

Wondering about the differences between coaching and therapy? Coaching containers are typically shorter-duration than therapy and focus more on the here and now and the future you want to create. We do address the past but do not take the deep dive into one’s past that often happens in therapy. As such, targeting coaching can be a great complement to therapy work you’ve done or are currently engaging in. Action steps and plans are emphasized to help you reach your goals.

About Bria

Bria Tavakoli

Sex Therapist, Intimacy Coach, Psychedelic Guide

I’m here to meet you where you are and help you create an authentic life you love, cherish, and feel at home in. My goal is to provide a welcoming, judgment-free, and brave space where you can drop any masks you might wear and explore your unique challenges. I work with individuals and couples and all relational structures, including polyamorous and LGBTQIA+ dynamics. I’m deeply passionate about my areas of specialization–sex therapy and guiding clients through psychedelic preparation and/or integration work.

Through attachment work, Internal Family Systems, DBT, Brainspotting (an EMDR offshoot that helps individuals process trauma), I support clients in building better relationships with themselves and others. I can guide you as you improve your communication skills, navigate your desire differences, process trauma, and shift insecure attachment patterns into more secure, grounded, and satisfying ways of relating.

As a yoga and meditation instructor with 15+ years of teaching experience, I can fluidly weave mindfulness and embodied awareness into sessions. As the proud daughter of an immigrant and a purity culture dropout, I hold an understanding, compassionate space for those with similar experiences.

I am earned my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University while concurrently engaging in sex therapy training through the Sexual Health Alliance. My psychedelic training includes studies through Psychedelics Today and attending the Psychedelic Science conference in Denver in 2023. Fun fact: I also hold a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. I love cats, dark chocolate, outdoorsy stuff (of course, because Colorado), and the cosmos. I sometimes delight in canceled plans and enjoy a good cooking or baking project.
